We're just back from the York Cycle Show! York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd That's a logo on a Paper Bicycle - scroll down to the last picture to see the full bike! We set up on Friday night, and the Velo Vision editorial team were hijacked on our way out by the show's publicity officer, who had the local press photographer in tow. See the results here. Saturday was a bit of a mixed bag weather-wise and I didn't get many pictures - some of these could be Sunday in fact. Anyway, here's a few quick snaps from around the Rally. The lightweight camping area: York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd Bo the Clown entertains: York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd London Recumbents had come to the show for the first time, and had a selection of machines available for try-out: York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd Anyway, on to Saturday evening, and though skies were gray we stayed dry on the Velo Vision pub ride: York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd I reckon we had 40 or 45 riders in total: York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd As usual our destination was the Ship Inn, but with their beer at £3.10 a pint, we may reconsider for next year! York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd The weather was bright and sunny for Sunday and the usual mass ride back from the Minster: some of us got there a bit early... Anyway, once there visitors to the show enjoyed the sunshine (scroll right to see the full picture!) York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd The crew from Cosybike had pedalled their Conferencebike all the way from Derby to York! Quite an effort, especially with the bike's low gearing - apparently the fastest they could pedal it was around 8 mph. As they say on the VV forum they had over 100 miles on the clock when they got back. Nick of Carryfreedom and Paper Bicycle had made a custom trailer from an old trunk for his stand, and my Mk 3 trailer managed to take all of the unsold mags and stand materials home in one trip :-) York Cycle show pic Copyright Peter Eland - Velo Vision Ltd

The Ship is, and has always been, a tourist trap - hence the ludicrous beer prices. The Blacksmiths at Naburn might be worth considering as an alternative - same sort of distance, just the other side of the river.
